Sleeping on the Sofa

C brought home a really MEAN flu bug from school, he came home early from school on Thursday. It caused him to have a fever for 5 days! At one point, he had febrile seizures that frigthtened us very much! He wasn't responding to us talking to him. He would stare up to the skies blankly, and sometimes give a smile or a chuckle. It was a strange smile, as he wasn't smiling at us, but staring blankly and laughing without reason. We put him in the tub and started washing him down with cool water, that helped him come to slightly, but he was responding to us like he was two years old. He'd nod, but he couldn't talk. That was disturbing too! We called the Paramedics just to be on the safe side. By the time the Paramedics got to our place, C had come to and was very aware of their presence. He was talking like himself. He seemed amused that all these very large men were standing around him, but he was not the least bit scared. They scared me though, they were so big! They had put an oxygen mask on him and checked his heartrate and temperature. They left the oxygen mask for him as a souvenier. Later the following week, he went back to school, but came home early once again, and had another fever. So, we took him to see his Pediatrician and she told us he had an ear infection. Now, he's on Antibiotics and is doing fine. We'll have to feed him lots of Probiotics once he's done with the Antibiotics, as Antibiotics kill off the good bacteria in our gut as well as the bad.
