C used to LOVE his interactive globe, just until recently. He'd play with it almost everyday... He knew where Kazakstan and Uzbekistan were, and he was learning so much more....then one day the batteries died. I changed it for him, and told him he can play with it again now that the batteries were new. But he refused! I told him a while back that disposable batteries are bad for the environment if you just throw it in the dumps because it leaches out toxic chemicals. I also told him that there are rechargeable batteries that will help keep longer use and lessen the impact. I also told him that there is recycling available for batteries as well. He nodded and thought about it, but he still feels too consciencious to use the globe, now that it has a disposable battery in it...sigh...What to do? I really want him to use his globe so he can continue learning his geography. Any suggestions?
