C was a little sad about not being able to eat the candy he was getting from Trick-or-Treating since he has Food Allergies and most of the candies have 3 or 4 of his allergens. He told me, "It's hard having food allergies...". I replied, "Yes, it's not fun because you don't get to enjoy the candies, cookies and cakes that everyone else can have. It's hard isn't it?" He nodded, then he added, "well, I think all those other kids are going to get diabetes from eating all that sugar!" I laughed and said, "You are absolutely right!"

Happy Halloween Rechargeable Energy Boy!
Here is C with his costume! His legs look like they're missing because they are the same color as the carpet!
Undressing from his costume;
Battery Operated!
C wanted to be a "C" Battery this Halloween. So we made him a costume! He didn't want to be just any ol battery, he wanted to be a rechargeable one, because they are better for the earth!

Recent Studies
Since C is home often because he's sick, we talk about things they don't cover in school yet. I've thought about homeschooling, so it's actually kinda neat that we get the best of both worlds this way.

Goodbye Yama-san
We just said "Goodbye" to a good family friend. Yama-san passed away suddenly, and we were shocked at how soon he went home to the Lord. Yama-san was kind and treated C like one of his own grandsons. C was very mature about his final farewells at the Viewing. I explained that Yama-san was not there in his body anymore, so he will not talk back to us if we talk to him. I told C that Yama-san's spirit went home to heaven. C understood that we won't be able to see him again here on earth. C said he will miss Yama-san. I reassured him that we'll see him again in heaven, when we get there someday. This was C's first experience with a loss of someone close.
This photo was taken about a year ago.
Thank you Yama-san for sharing your kindness with C, we will miss you.

Sleeping on the Sofa
C brought home a really MEAN flu bug from school, he came home early from school on Thursday. It caused him to have a fever for 5 days! At one point, he had febrile seizures that frigthtened us very much! He wasn't responding to us talking to him. He would stare up to the skies blankly, and sometimes give a smile or a chuckle. It was a strange smile, as he wasn't smiling at us, but staring blankly and laughing without reason. We put him in the tub and started washing him down with cool water, that helped him come to slightly, but he was responding to us like he was two years old. He'd nod, but he couldn't talk. That was disturbing too! We called the Paramedics just to be on the safe side. By the time the Paramedics got to our place, C had come to and was very aware of their presence. He was talking like himself. He seemed amused that all these very large men were standing around him, but he was not the least bit scared. They scared me though, they were so big! They had put an oxygen mask on him and checked his heartrate and temperature. They left the oxygen mask for him as a souvenier. Later the following week, he went back to school, but came home early once again, and had another fever. So, we took him to see his Pediatrician and she told us he had an ear infection. Now, he's on Antibiotics and is doing fine. We'll have to feed him lots of Probiotics once he's done with the Antibiotics, as Antibiotics kill off the good bacteria in our gut as well as the bad.
